Halloween Fun!

Olivia's school went to the orchard in the beginning of October. They had a hayride, picked pumpkins and apples and then made cider!

There was a play area at the end. As you can tell Ethan was in heaven!
We made some pumpkin crafts. The kids had a lot of fun making them.

Here is Olivia's pumpkin. She said she was making it to look like Aunt Kari. So I asked her what made her pumpkin look like Aunt Kari? Her response was the red freckles!!

Now who is going to put their hand in there and pull out the gooey stuff??!!
Ethan wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty!

Trick-or-Treat

Ethan and Olivia were very excited about Halloween this year. Olivia wanted to be a witch. A nice witch. Ethan decided to be a cow. Not just any cow, a Holstein cow. His costume was really neat, it was a hand me down. He absolutely loves it.

This was the only picture I could get of his cute little tail that I made for his costume.

more pictures from this weekend

This is a little out of order, But our second stop on Saturday was at the Mast Farms on Rte 23 in Morgantown. They have corn mazes, animals, hay mountains, a straw pit, swing sets, face painting and I think that is only about half of what was there!

Checking out the animals before getting started!

Now where do we go?

Refreshed and onto the bouncy ball maze!

Our second hayride of the day. It was getting late in the day and the lighting was really pretty.

We had a great time and went home very tired and dirty!!

A Fantastic Fall Weekend with Family and Friends!

We had a busy weekend. Thursday we met up with some of our friends to go to Ryers Farm, which is a retirement home for horses. The kids were able to pet the horses and feed them carrots. They all seemed to really enjoy themselves. Then we had a picnic in the park. Friday Olivia's preschool went to the fire department. They learned all about fire safety. I am amazed at how much she retained from all they were taught. We then got a tour of the ambulances and fire trucks. They also were able to climb up in the trucks. This was very exciting to both Olivia and Ethan! But what Ethan was even more intrigued with was the lawn mower! Go figure!

Olivia and Ethan made a wreath with leaves they had collected. It was really easy and they had a lot of fun doing it!

On Saturday we met up with Grandmom and Pop-pop as well as Uncle Pat and Aunt Meghan and their 9 year old friends, the triplets at the Apple Festival at Hay Creek.

Olivia and Ethan rode the Apple train!

Olivia taking a pony ride on "Lilly" the Pony. And yes, she asked the woman leading the pony herself about the pony's name!

All of us on the first hayride of the day!

My Amazing Children

My Children constantly amaze me! Not just once in awhile, not once a month, not once a week. Every day they amaze, all day long. They amaze me by the things they learn, the things they can do, the things they try to do, their reasoning for why they decided to do something and the things that come out of their mouths!!! Tonight after I picked them up at Mom-mom's, Olivia was playing with her seat belt and as I am scolding her for playing with it she responds with: "Yes, Yes Mother Dear!"
Then later when we are at home and my angelic children are sitting at the table waiting for dinner I strain to hear them talking to each other, when I hear Ethan say "THAT! is SOOOO COOL!!", until I bring out his dinner and he informs Olivia and I that that was not what he wanted for dinner. As I am going back into the kitchen I hear Olivia respond to him, "Ethan, eat what your mother puts in front of you or she will yell and holler!" I put my beautiful children to bed and Olivia tells me she loves me she gives me a hug and a kiss and goes to sleep. I leave her room with a calm peaceful aura. Ethan however decides that tonight is the night that he is going to be difficult. "Goodnight Ethan". "Goodnight Mommy" (ahh, what sweet children), I get to the bottom of the steps and sit down on the sofa and hear the pitter patter of the youngest feet in the house. I return upstairs to find Ethan in Olivia's room. We go back to Ethan's bed, I have to tinkle mommy, okay. Finally back in bed, scolded and not getting out, back downstairs ready to relax and again the pitter patter of feet. This happens a few more times when I finally ask my son, Why do you keep getting out of bed and going into your sisters room? My sweat little boy tells me because he wanted to give his sister kisses goodnight!

Fall Fun

Last Saturday we went to Linvilla Orchard's Apple festival. We have gone in the past and it is always fun. The kids enjoy seeing all the animals and playing on the fun playground. We even went on a hayride this year.

My Three animals!!

They had this really cool playground. Full of Tractor trailers, trucks, monster trucks and even an airplane. Needless to say it was right up our alley!! Olivia is good for saying she wants to go on a pony ride and then getting up there and changing her mind. Not this year. No this year she started saying she was going on a pony ride before we got in the car! Meanwhile, I am thinking to myself yeah right, sure you will. Well my little angel proved me wrong once again, She did the pony ride and loved it!!!
Ethan also did the pony ride although being my adventurous child this was not his first ride.

Pa-Pa is very much a Porsche fan so he gave Ethan one of his magazines to look at, which he carried around all day with him. I was even told that I was not allowed to touch it! (grumble, grumble on my part.) Anyway we were getting ready for bed and I came back into the living room to this! There is no getting away from it, one way or another my son is going to be up to his elbows in grease. Either from a tractor or a car, and loving it all the way!! We have really noticed him start to problem solve. Whether it is getting his bike unstuck from the curve or lining up all of his tractors and cars. He loves to play with his tools and is very good with a screw driver. He lines it up the the top of the screw and puts it in place. He is really fun to watch and admire.

Olivia is always singing and dancing whether it is around the house or in the car. Some of you may have seen her cutting a rug at Uncle Pat's wedding. She loves to dance. So we asked her if she was interested in taking Ballet classes. No surprise, she said yes. She has had two classes and seems to love it. The cool part, at least Daddy and I think so, is that my Ballet teacher (of 14years) is still teaching and that is who Olivia is taking lessons with.
